A beautiful Autumn day here today ...a shame we didn't have weather like this during Summer :).
I was reading the other day that as a nation, Australians have become obsessed with the weather and considering the Summer we have just had it is no wonder. It was the first Summer that I can remember using my dryer constantly due to wet and rainy days!!!
Loved the colour combo over at Colour Q this week...
once again a little hectic and when you throw in back problems (me...but
my own silly fault :( ), two littlies with a stomach bug, a hubby out of
town, a FIL painting all the doors in my house and a mountain of
washing...well, I am feeling a little swamped...hehehe.
days until Mr N is on holidays and we head to mum's for the annual egg
hunt in her backyard and then spend two weeks lying around eating all
the chocolate we swore last year we wouldn't buy again. It is a vicious
Joined in over at Meljen's again this week. Played along last week as well but never got around to bloggin' it...my bad :).
loved this weeks challenge to use no colour except in the digi image
that I just had to play along and I created not one but two cards.
It seems that I have a thing for this gorgeous Meljen's digi!!! The fact is that I love elephants. I used to collect elephant figurines and have some gorgeous ones from all over the world...unfortunately they are sitting in a box..:(. A few of my favourites are on display but there is no room for the rest...perhaps one day...
So it is no surprise that I keep reaching for this little critter...I just love him!!!
This card is for this weeks Meljen's challenge..to use this sketch...
One thing I struggle with on my cards in angles :). I am not a fan for putting papers on different angles but I really wanted to challenge myself with this sketch. But after sitting at my desk for 1/2 hour and not getting anywhere I went looking for inspiration. This card was greatly inspired by this card by Andrea Budjack...I just adore her cards...the dimension and texture that she adds is just to die for!!!
Mondays are my day to get everything done without any children under foot and today I went for broke...lol.
Both fridges are sparkling inside and out, both cars are sparkling inside and out, been to the organic grocery store to grab some yummy goodies, took the vacuum in for repair and even managed to have a lovely coffee with hubby at the most gorgeous little cafe that a friend suggested i try. And she was right...the most divine coffee ever! :)
Just popping in to share my card for the My Minds Eye card sketch.
...are extremely rare around here. Not sure how the rest of Australia is fairing but NSW were told at the beginning of Summer that it would be 'the Summer we never had'...and so far it has lived up to that quote!! In my 35 years I can never remember a summer where is has rained and rained and rained and can count on one hand the amount of days where the thermostat has reached over 30degrees Celsius.
But today the sun is shining, the washing is drying outside for a change and hubby and the kids are enjoying a bike ride together while I get a bit of quiet time....ah bliss. If time permits before they get home I might go outside and sit and read in the sun for a while...fingers crossed...lol.
Sharing my card for Colour Q today...loved this combo...
I am really into sketches atm. I have hundreds saved on my computer and I am always trolling for more but rarely use them...hehehe.
The other night I was almost desperate to create something....do you ever feel that way? I had some beautiful new paper pads and stamps sitting in front of me but I just sat there. I opened up my sketch file and 20mins later had a completed card sitting in front of me...it was liberating, I tell ya...lol.
After preparing and hosting my little girls 4th birthday party on Saturday and having house guests I was surprised I had any energy last night to complete these but now I am wondering how I can get back in the groove and churn out 3 cards every night...hehehe.
Hope you are all well and thanks for stopping by...
Once again it was a colour combo that got me crafting this weekend.
Do you every have those times where the mojo is there but you just can't produce? That has been me for the last few weeks. Granted life has been crazy...kids are back at school and pre-school and hubby just had a cornea transplant...yep, you read right....a cornea transplant.
I knew that life would be a bit chaotic for a while but i had no idea of his limitations while his eye recovers and accepts the new cornea....the man can't even bend over to get the milk out of the fridge. The first few days were MANIC...but we have found a rhythm and he is recovering very well and very fast. His Dr only tells us good things at his check ups and for that we are grateful!!
So you can understand why my mojo felt a bit neglected...:)
Last night I finally had success after sitting at my desk and procrastinating for an hour...lol.
So many things to be happy for atm but mostly just watching my two precious kids bloom and grow makes me the happiest. Today I discovered that the never ending noise they make also makes me happy (even when I am begging them to be quiet for 5 mins :) ) as they are not here and the silence is deafening!!!
They are having a sleepover at their grandparents house and having the time of their lives! But here, DH and I are kind of lonely...lol. Oh, don't get me wrong...we are loving the time to ourselves and have got an amazing amount of jobs down without two little sets of hands that always want to help and make a job last for an hour longer than it should...but the silence is killing us...hehehe.
Joined in over at Colour Q this week...loved this combo...
...and because I was on a roll (and the house was so quiet :) )...I also used this colour combo to play over at Meljen's again this week....anything goes!!
Well, my kids sure are :). The weather in our little part of the world is finally starting to feel like summer. Today they have two of their closest friends over and while my house looks like a bomb went off, they are having the time of their lives and are currently trying to catch butterflies. Not sure that they are having much success but the giggles coming from the backyard are just the cutest.
Just popping in again to share a few summery cards that I made a while back when we were desperate for summer to make an appearance...
And while I am sharing my love of all things Meljen here are the cards I made for the 10 Quick Cards feature in CSPC magazine...lots of yummy little Meljen digi stamps. So versatile...you've just gotta love em' :).
Off to join the kids in the backyard...thanks for stopping by.
