twist it...

Loved this weeks sketch over at Twisted Sketches....go and check it out and play along!!

This twist is glitter and I kept it to a minimal this week...could have very easily got carried away...heehe!

The kids are hollering from the swing set for a push so I better run.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend...finally feels like summer is coming to my little part of the world.

Cheers.

Just too cute...

I got to witness the quick and simple wedding ceremony of my son and the girl next door a few weeks back. I was lucky enough to be allowed to take photos...even though Miss J was very particular about what, when, where and how to shoot them...lol

They started with a beautiful dance across the road...we live in what could be called a double cul-de-sac, so there is plenty of room and safe places to play...then they came back for some photos and to feed the dog...played my Miss J's little sister, Miss K. It was just so cute and I had to try hard not to giggle constantly. It was very serious business after all :).

I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers to document this wonderful occasion...

I stitched on this LO...what the!!! I haven't dragged out my sewing machine for over 3 years...it felt good!!!

In other news....check it out here.

Pretty chuffed :). I haven't done a DT for a while...was enjoying just scrapping for myself but I am looking forward to getting back into it.

Hope you are all well.

Cheers.

Old fashioned treats...

Mmmm...yummy. My Grandma used to make these when I was a kid and they were so good. This week Noah, Abi and I are learning about the letter Mm...we do a new letter each week...and for our cooking activity we made these. They are still setting...and the wait is killing Mr N...hehehe. Not sure if they will taste the same as my Grandmas but if the mixture on the beaters was anything to go by....well, fingers crossed. I am not looking forward to rolling them in coconut though...looks like I will be spending the rest of the afternoon vacuum and mopping the kitchen :(.

You can find the recipe we used here.

I bit of scrappiness today...

The October sketch challenge over at Anna's...

Used the Studio Calico October kit...loving this one!! Dam and Noah at the beach in Forster. They got to spend a lot of time together just wandering, swimming and having fun....it was so good to see!!

Looks like we are in for more rain this afternoon so I am off to bring the washing in and coax the kids out of the sandpit. Hope it is sunny tomorrow as Noah has his second day of Orientation for kindergarten next year. We are off on a bike ride with his fellow classmates and he is rather excited about it!!!

Hope you are all well.

Cheers.

Distraction and Procrastination...

I suffer from these badly...hehehe. Right now I should be dusting and them moving on to vacuuming and mopping.

I never turn the computer on on a Monday morning but for some reason I am sitting here with my morning cuppa checking out what every one has been up to over the weekend and perhaps I am a little excited to share that I got to scrap yesterday...what was that? Scrapping during the day...on a weekend...surely not!!! Oh yeah, and I worked it perfectly...hehehe.

Dear hubby says I am devious and I guess he is kinda right....blush. But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...and if that means letting your hubby have the most wonderful and longest sleep in he has had since we had children in order to then bribe him for an afternoon of scrapping...well, then this girl is devious... (insert evil cackle :D).

So I spent a glorious rainy Sunday afternoon doing this...

Miss A in one of her many 'costume changes'...she changes her clothes at least 6 times a day and it drives me insane! Not only does she triple my washing and ironing piles but her room by the end of the day looks like a bomb went off. I tried to stop her but it seems to be what she loves to do...Noah plays cars and trucks and Abigail plays dress ups with her everyday clothes. I loved her shoes and socks in this get up and the fact that her nappy was hanging out the back...crack me up.

Well, that is enough for now...really need to get the house clean.

Hope you are all well. Thanks again for your lovely comments!

Cheers.

PS. That punch below arrived this morning....YAY!!!

Patience is a virtue....

...or so I keep telling my children :) ...but when one paper crafting nut is waiting for this...my patience is all but run out!!!

I thought today it might possible arrive but by 5pm this afternoon as I made my way through the well worn tracks to my front door to check again I gave in :(....hoping for tomorrow.

Not much to share atm....working on a few LO's here and there but all of them seem to be calling for this punch...hehehe.

I did get the Oct. sketch done over at Handmade by Susanne...

...my baby girl all ready for her first day of Pre-school...but looking at these photos as I was editing and printing them out made me realise that there is much baby left anymore!

And that's about it....grand plans for the weekend...yeah right ;).

Thanks for stopping by.

When you wish upon a star....

you land a spot on the Twisted Sketches card DT...:).

Here is sketch #29...with the twist of - Jewel...anyhow, any way.

and here is my take on it...

In other news, we just got back yesterday from a week in Forster.

We spent most of our time on that beach and stayed right across the road....it was beautiful and relaxing and the kids had a blast.

Today I am off to restock our fridge and pantry and hang out a million loads of washing :).

Thanks for stopping by.

Rest and relaxation...

HA!!!....is that possible with two small children and a list of jobs to do around the house a mile long? Hubby has been on holidays for the past week and we are anything but rested and relaxed...lol. That is the plan for this week...fingers crossed.

We had a lovely but hectic long weekend...all of it spent in Newcastle and started with a trip to the ER with Miss A on friday night. She was fine but her temp was through the roof and panadol was doing nothing. Sunday saw us at our nephews christening where Dam and I proudly stood up as godparents....and finished the weekend off with much needed time with Nan (my mum :)).

A few oldies to share today...not much scrapping happening either :).

All of these photos were taken on Dam's phone...I want to make it a regular thing to scrap as I love the little bits of our lives that he captures.

and Abi and her style of fishing...wait until her brother and uncle reel it in and then try to catch it with her hands. It was hard to take this photo because I was shaking with laughter at the sight of her running around in circles and shouting 'I get it!'.

Hope you are all well.
Hugs.

Polarized...

A few of you have asked how I polarized my photos and the answer is so easy!!!

I used this program here...Polaroin.

There are others but I find this one the best.

Poladroid is one.

I love the effect and it brings back sweet memories for me. My Pa had one of the original cameras when I was a kid...would love to know what happened to it. Possibly got tossed out as it was do doubt considered old technology...oh, what I would do to get my hands on it. My sister and I used to love watching the photo roll out...talk about instant gratification...lol.

Today I am once again running around like a mad woman...we have one crazy fun filled long weekend coming up and Dam is on holidays for two weeks...YAY!!! So I am off to tidy the house, get organised, do some alphabet activities with the kids...this weeks letter is Dd :), drink more coffee and hopefully finish off with some scrapping later tonight...fingers crossed.

Hope you are all well and have a fantastic weekend.
Hugs.
