and just like that...

another month is done!

I am really starting to stress about this as it means my baby boy is getting closer and closer to starting school. He can't wait and talks about it constantly and I try to answer all his questions without tearing up :). I just need everything to slow down a bit. In less than two weeks my baby girl will be starting pre-school...didn't we just bring her home from the hospital yesterday?!?!?!

I have been up to a bit of scrapping this week and played along with a few different challenges....

First up the colour challenge at 2Crafty...

I combined this with a Creative Scrappers sketch...

And then I headed over to Anna's to play along with the September sketch...

I combined this with the Scrap the Boys Fathers Day challenge...

I have to say that this LO is probably the first one in a long time that I actually sat back and thought...'that is me.' I have felt a bit lost in my scrapping lately and most pages end up getting stuck together out of complete frustration!! I got back to my favourite basics with this LO...distressing, layering and a little of this and that scattered around...ahhhh, it feels good!

We are off to the library today and a few odd jobs here and there including trying to thinking of Christening present for my 3yr old nephew....yep, they are running a bit behind :) and Dam and I have asked to be godparents and I am clueless on what to get him...any ideas?

Hope you are all well.
Hugs.

PS. Just wanted to shout out a HUGE CONGRATS to my friend Kim....you can read her exciting news here!!! Certainly going to make my buy the mag again!!!

Getting creative...

with the latest Creative Scrappers sketch...

This is the pose that you get from my nephew when you ask him to look at the camera...he is a total ham and I adore him!

I went looking for some quotes about being creative last night...just a little somethin' I like to do :)... and I came across these two that I really liked...

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.
Vincent Van Gogh

The creative process is not controlled by a switch you can simply turn on or off; its with you all the time.
Alvin Ailey

I really like the last one...so true.

Hope you are all well and manage to get creative this weekend....aren't really liking my chances but you never know :).

Hugs.

HO HO HO...

Is anyone counting down yet? I am NOT!!! Got to many things to think and do before I move onto Christmas but it is always lovely to sit down with a cuppa and get inspiration for the silly season.

This months CSPC will do just that. It has been sitting on my kitchen bench for over a week now and I can't stop looking and the ideas are just piling up.

I have a couple of cards in this issue...it felt really weird making them in May...lol.

In the Just in Time article I have these two cards...

And an article about banners contains these three cards...

Thanks for stopping by.

Krafting away...

Naturally it was the banner in this photograph that lead me to participate in this months Kraft it Up.

I think i need to seek help for this addiction. These days when I start a LO my first thought is 'where to put the banner.'....ummmm, yep I need help...lol.

Here is my take on it...

It seems that I wasn't quite finished with the 'Continental' kit from SC either...pretty sure there is nothing left of it now! Oh and look at my little man...hard to believe he is heading off to school next year....sob, sob!!

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments...they always put a smile on my face.

Good mates...

and good times!!

Back home from another weekend in Newcastle with family. My nephew turned 4 yesterday and there was a jumping castle...for the kids, yep it was for the kids...but who could resist...hehehe. My sister and I got in there and the kids rolled out pretty quick...lol. We got a bit crazy and and I guess to a bunch of kids under the age of 5 that equates to SCARY!!! HAHAHA...

Then today was spent at mum's where Dam had to be handyman of the year and fix a few things for her...he is such a good man. If I ever have a go at him I need to remember that since my Dad has passed away he makes sure that all of mum's household needs are met. From changing tap washers to re-gyprocking the walls downstairs for the renovations that are currently underway he is there! You see, my Dad was a lifelong renovator...most weekends were filled with projects around the house and just before he got sick he ripped out the old spiral staircase and put in a new straight one. Unfortunately he never got to finish it off and my cousin and hubby have stepped up and done an amazing job. And to me the most amazing part of it all is that my wonderful hubby had never done anything like this before!!! Today was the gyprocking project...something he has never done but it looks like a pro has come in and done the job...yep, I am very proud!! :)

Anyhoo, I digress...lol.

Last weeks colour combo and the latest challenge at Scrap the Boys (to use metal...I have used a bookplate and photo turns) ....here is my take on both challenges.
Hope you all had a great weekend...I am off to lay on the lounge and watch a bit of telly...how rare :).

I am not...

a religious person but I am almost willing to get down on my knees and pray for the warm weather to STAY!! I love the little teasers we get every couple of days but I hate it when the temp drops low again and the wind picks up...brrrrr.

Not much happening around here...had a wonderful weekend at home. Dam's cousin spent it with us and the kids think he is the best thing since sliced bread so they were beside themselves with excitement :).

I did get a bit of scrapping done when the boys went off to the pub on Saturday night.

Abi and her baby on the swings...she could pass a whole afternoon like this...

and her new love for the camera. I think I have her convinced that my mum lives in the camera because the only way I can get her to look at it is to tell her to say hi to Nan...lol. She does so and then puts on her cheesiest grin and shouts 'Cheese!'

I have been trying to use up some of my old SC kits. I store each kit in a scrapbooking storage bags...I have 5 and rotate them as they arrive. These two LO's were made with the Quilting Bee kit.

Hope you are all having a good week.
Hugs.

Pretty colours...

The minute I saw this inspiration board I started digging through my stash...even though at the time I should have been getting the kids ready to head off to Noah's music class...lol.

A couple of days later I came up with this...Abi with lovely pen marks all over her face. Proof that Miss 2.5 is getting too tall and I need to remember not to leave things on the edge of the kitchen bench. Later that afternoon I also discovered that she had decorated the lounge...grrrrr. Thank goodness for scotch guarding!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Reading...

and not scrapping. My mojo isn't on vacation but I can't seem to put a book down long enough to get any scrapping done atm. But that is so me...I tend to get so engrossed in one thing at one time. But today my scrap table is calling and I plan on putting the kids to bed tonight and then get scrapping.

Some older pages...still trying to wrap up our little holiday in March...now that I think about it I probably should have done a mini album instead. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have also found myself handwriting on my LO's again. I haven't done this in a long time....saving me time as well.

Love this photo of my two in the back of the car the morning we left. First stop was Macca's for breakfast...their first time and I don't think they were to impressed with it...lol. No fries :).

We have just said goodbye to the inlaws and cousins who came to visit today and the kids are chilling....it is hard work playing all day :). So I am going to finish my cuppa, visit some lovely blogs and then go and start dinner and the night time routine.

Have a good weekend everyone.
Hugs.

Father's Day

has come and gone for another year and we spoiled him rotten.

The kids and I painted our own wrapping paper and I quickly made some tags before leaving for Newcastle for the weekend.

It was also my sisters birthday on Saturday so we had a weekend filled with family and yummy food...oh, and a trip to the in-laws...yuck :D.

Hope you all had a wonderful day with your families.

Thanks for stopping by.
